Liberation from the Mass of Neurosis Within

The mass of neurosis within is like a ball of energy vibrating like an over-dose of caffeine. It feels similar to a sleepless night, or jet lag. The neurosis I’m referring to isn’t a psychological label, but a description of an entangled ball of repetitive behavior that continues to be reenforced by habit.

Often, this mass is experienced in the solar plexus, where it can feel like a knot. It can be experienced as anxiety, fear, frustration, anger or resistance, depending upon our early childhood experiences. It’s a throwback to our childhood emotions...emotions we could hide or that were socially acceptable back then. We carry that reactive behavior into adulthood, reestablishing the habitual pattern.
It was and often still is the background music in our sense gates, our psyche. It is disturbing enough to cause angst, dissatisfaction, or even dread. Pay attention; listen to your gut, and you will be amazed how often you are driven by the “ball” of tension within.

What to do?

Take your awareness of the vibration (the tightness) itself. Explore it with great curiosity:
How does it feel?
Where else do you experience it in your body?
Is there texture, color?
Does it move?
Can you detect an emotion?
Just note
Then with subtlety, press your scapula (shoulder blades) gently down and a little together with a micro movement. Feel the rib cage lift slightly and the heart open with the upward motion.
Breathe: Inhale and exhale through the heart center.
Explore what has happened to the “ball” of tension now.
Feel the subtle relief. Feel more ease.
Practice this throughout the day. Try it when you feel stressed. Try it when you are in transition or making a difficult decision, or when life is having its way with you. Or when you are out of your comfort zone, or when you feel out of sync.
See what happens. Be curious.

You will be on your way to healing a very old pattern that has led you to make decisions on an unconscious level.

Be conscious.

Be liberated with inner peace as you breathe more easily and live more graciously and gratefully. Absorb the pleasure.

Pleasure accesses tranquility and liberates us from fear.
